What custom 3D printing costs
There is no fixed price list for custom work, because two prints of the same size can take very different amounts of time and material. We quote every job for free. These are the things that move the price:
Size and volume
Bigger parts use more filament and take longer to print. Volume matters more than height or width alone.
Strength
A display piece can be mostly hollow inside. A bracket that takes load needs thicker walls and more internal fill, which adds material and time.
Material
PLA is the cheapest. Engineering materials like nylon and polycarbonate cost more and take more care to print.
Detail and finish
Fine detail means thinner layers and a longer print. Parts that need supports cleaned off or extra finishing take more labour.
Quantity
Printing several of the same part costs less per piece than printing one.
Design work
If you send a print-ready file, you only pay for the print. If we need to design or fix the model first, we include that in the quote.
