Christmas Baking

Christmas Cookie Cutters and Baking Ideas

Seven bakes that look good on the Christmas table and keep the kids busy on a hot December afternoon. All made with cutters we design and print in NSW.

1. Build a gingerbread house

The Gingerbread House 3D Cutter ($30) cuts every wall and roof panel you need, so the pieces line up when you build. Bake the panels a little longer than normal cookies so they hold their shape, let them cool flat, then glue them together with thick royal icing.

2. Stack your cookies into 3D shapes

Our 3D Christmas Cutters ($20) and the Premium Christmas Stacker Set ($15) cut pieces you stack and layer. Glue the layers with icing to build cookies that stand up off the plate. They make a great centrepiece for the dessert table.

3. Santa stuck in the chimney

The Santa Stuck in Chimney Set ($15) comes with a cutter and a matching stamp, so the detail presses straight into the dough. Kids love decorating this one with red and white icing.

4. A Christmas cookie pizza

The Christmas Pizza Set ($30) cuts cookies that look like festive pizza slices. Decorate each slice differently and share them out after lunch.

5. Cookies for Santa

The Cookies for Santa cutter ($8) has lettering built in, so the message bakes into the cookie. Make a batch on Christmas Eve and leave them out with a glass of milk. Add a few shapes for the reindeer with our Cute Reindeer cutter ($8).

6. Treats for the dog

The Santa Paws cutter ($8) brings the pets into Christmas. Use it with a dog-friendly biscuit recipe with no chocolate, xylitol, raisins or macadamias, and the dog gets a stocking too.

7. Classic shapes for the tin

For a biscuit tin to give the neighbours, stick to the classics:

Tips for clean Christmas cookies

  • Chill your dough before cutting. Summer kitchens make soft dough, and soft dough loses detail
  • Dip the cutter in flour between every cut
  • Press straight down and lift straight up, no twisting
  • Chill the cut shapes on the tray for 10 minutes before baking so they keep their edges
Caring for your cutters: our cutters are printed in PLA. Wash them by hand in warm (not hot) soapy water, dry them straight away, and keep them out of the dishwasher and hot cars.

Want your own design?

We print custom cookie cutters from your logo, your kid's drawing or a family photo. The Custom Face Cookie Cutter ($20) turns a photo into a cutter, and our guide on how to order custom cookie cutters explains the rest. Custom orders need extra time before Christmas, so check our Christmas cut-off dates.

Baking every month? The Cookie Cutter Club Mystery Box ($50) sends a curated set of themed cutters each month.

Frequently asked questions

What cookie cutters do I need for a gingerbread house?

Our Gingerbread House 3D Cutter cuts every wall and roof panel in one set, so the pieces line up when you assemble the house.

Can 3D printed cookie cutters go in the dishwasher?

No. Our cutters are printed in PLA, which can warp with heat. Wash them by hand in warm soapy water and dry them straight away.

How do I stop my cookies spreading in the oven?

Chill the dough before cutting, then chill the cut shapes on the tray for about 10 minutes before baking.

Can you make a custom Christmas cookie cutter?

Yes. We print custom cutters from logos, drawings and photos. Order by early December so it arrives before Christmas.
