Articulated Animals

The Complete Guide to Articulated Animal Fidgets

Bendy, clicky, wiggly animals that kids collect and adults leave on their desks. Here is how they work and which ones to pick.

What is an articulated animal fidget?

An articulated fidget is a 3D printed animal made of linked segments. The printer builds the joints already connected, so the animal comes off the print bed in one piece and moves straight away. You can bend the body, swing the tail and pose it. People also call them flexi animals or flexi fidgets.

They sit halfway between a toy and a fidget. Kids play with them. Adults run them through their fingers during a phone call.

Looking after your articulated animal

  • Move the joints gently the first few times. They loosen up with use
  • Bend with the joints, not against them. Forcing a joint sideways can snap it
  • Keep it out of hot cars and away from heat above 50°C
  • Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Skip water and cleaning sprays

Our fidgets have small parts and are not suitable for children under 3. Read are 3D printed fidgets safe for kids or our Safety and Care Guide for the full rundown.
